hi bros ,

i just want to share this experience i had just now at a moneychanger in parkway parade.

Bought 2000 pound sterling from these guys and it cost $ 3980.

I gave the guy $4000 and he gave me the pounds.

After i finished counting i asked the guy for my $ 20 and he said ' I gave you already and now you ask me again?'

I was certain he did not give me so i looked into my wallet. True enough i got only $6 left.

So i showed the guy my wallet ...that there was no $ 20 in it.

The ah neh said ' I give you already and you put somewhere, i dont know where '

Then lucky this lady next to me said to the chow ah neh ' No you didnt give him any $ 20 '

Chee bye ah neh next thing he did...he took $ 20 and gave me without saying anything more .

I really think he knew already that he didnt give me, but even if he did realise his mistake he should at least apologise.

As i left i told the bloody ah neh ... 'you cheat people what for you puasa ' Bloody Indian muslims.

This moneychanger is at street level near HSBC and oleh oleh cafe.

Be careful bros of these guys if you go there...and of course anywhere else.

Yes Bro Erection, I once changed some currency there with that fucked up moneychanger at Parkway Parade... Fucker Ah neh gave me a low rate... That was the first and the last I went there.. Try to stay away from all those Ah neh moneychangers located at shopping malls.. One fucked up place is at the basement of Tampines Mall run by an Ah neh too...

The thing is that most money changers are run by shit skins. Change alley is full of keling money changers for eg. It's of course typical of these shit skins to behave like this. Hard to find chinese money changers even though there are quite a number.

tnks bro. Any moneychanger to recommend?

Do different money changers offer good and bad rates for different types of currency?

Like perhaps a money changer that offers good rates for say thai bhat offers lousy rates for malaysian ringgit for eg? Is this possible?

ah bro as you said, with these clowns anything is possible if you are unwary. They will try to take any small advantage at your expense.

Try this money changer just in front of the Sultan Mosque at Arab St.... the place right besides the traffic light.. There's is this Indian Muslim restaurant besides the moneychanger. Or you can try those moneychanger at the nearby Golden Landmark shopping centre... Will always go there to change my currencies.. My friend claimed that the moneychanger at Mustafa Center gave good rates too, but I yet to check out the place as I know it will be jam packed with Ah nehs...

thank you bro. Will try next time.

Both Chinks and Inks are horrible in the the money changing trade. The Inks try to cheat a few fraction of percentage and the Chinks try to save a few fraction of percentage as if big time forex traders trading in hundreds of thousands or millions. Come on, how much are you exchanging? For tourist purposes, a few thousands at most. Running here and there comparing, wasting your time, bus fares or taxi fares which couldn't be covered with what you supposedly saved.

I don't use moneychangers' services for a long time since the internationalisation of ATM with Plus and Cirrus. I'd gladly pay the ATM charges. It's for the convenience and it's not much. I won't spend hours and tens of dollars running around for cheapeast exchange to save five dollars.

And in case I do need moneychangers' services, I'll just take the nearest available. Don't tell me that they're going to quote me S$1 to RM$1.50?! Anything RM2.3*or*4 something would be acceptable. I'm just exchanging a few hundred dollars. Gain or loss is just a few dollars at most.

If you're usually exchanging in tens of thousands or millions, my humble apologies. And my advice, you shouldn't look for a moneychanger. You should look for a forex broker. He could save you thousands.

The only good thing about mustafa money changers are that they are open 24/7.

money changer at tam pines mrt station is the most honest and best in rates, in my experience. every time making a stop in sg, i would make an effort to go there for currency exchange. it's out of the way but it pays.
