The Veterans didn't manage to capture the CEC, you are right about that.

But the Veterans managed to send in their "representatives" into CEC and they are just showing, "don't mess around with us" kind of defiance. Especially so when they managed to get rid of Swee Bee who is deemed as totally lack of tact and disrespectful to them and many others.

As rightly pointed out by BC, Fazli and Sajeev were not "veterans" either. Fazli is younger than all 6 and Sajeev admitted to being inactive from 2006 to 2011 - an entire off-election term until WP called him to fill a minority gap (which I think was WP's mistake). Which explains why Sajeev hasn't joined other parties since he is hardly motivated by a pro-Singapore cause.
