Didn't Sir Stamford Raffles found Singapore?

Why is it Stamford Raffles? I thought it is the Mats who found Singapore? They were here even before Stamdord right?

The founder of Singapore is Sang Nila Utama, a mat prince from Palembang. Ask google.

Raffles is a ang moh working for the East India Company sent by the queen to raid for resources from asia for her majesty.

LKY is a rich kid who studied law in england, came back and became friends with a bunch of local chinese. the rest is (white washed) history.

yea, i never understand the need to erect a statue of Stamford Raffles.

he merely conned the natives into giving up Singapore for the benefit of the british empire.

if we really need to erect a statue to commerate the founding of singapore, we should be erecting a statue of Sang Nila Utama instead.

Sir Stamford Raffles was a distinguished Freemason, of course they're going to honour him. Name schools and hospitals after him.

Even the local Masonic Lodge mentions this.
