Did the universe exist before the Big Bang?

The nearest Sun is Alpha Centauri AB which is 4.3 billion light years away - about 40,681,141,032,097.44 kilometres away.

The nearest star Alpha Centauri is 4.24 light years away from the Sun and not 4.3 billion light years.

If light takes 4.24 years to reach there, what hope then is there for humans to travel to the outer reaches of the universe?

Let's see at 4.24 light years, we would need one giant worldship that can sustain a colony for countless generations. Based on today's technology and speed, it will take about 50,000 earth years for us to get there since we have nothing that can accelerate us to the speed of light thus far. :D

Instead of building a hugh ship, we could hack off a chunk of Earth to propel us there with a sizeable community?

It is the chicken and egg problem, do have the chicken first or the egg first.
There must be existence of heavenly bodies inorder for the Big Bang to Occur

Matter is energy...energy is matter.
Initially the whole universe was just energy.?

Who created God? Jesus Christ? Gautama Buddha? How many millions or billions years ago?

human created religion and thus created god to explain the unknown in ancient time. it might surprise you, for you link buddhism, which is suppose to be a philosophy to god/creator; it has never agree with the idea of a creator of universe.

actually its possible that everything comes from vaccuum if you read about field theory. field can give rise to particle and anti particle, this is how we detect radiation from black hole (hawking radiation), and why black hole does not last forever even if its created in mini-scale in lab.

actually even if you can travel at the speed of light you might not be able to reach there. if i am not wrong the expansion of universe, result in the distance of separation of certain galaxy might be faster than the speed of light.

then how you shoot that chunk of rock out of earth gravity, what about sunlight.

I recall about an observation made that standing from a point out in space it is possible to move the planet earth with a pole. What do u say to that ?..I think it is Archimedes or some philosopher.

Lever.. :D

His problem was trying to fix a mistake but the mistakes gets bigger and bigger

Star Trek called Warp Drive. Or use time machine or travel with the same speed of light since the space is a vacuum no air only magnetic field that block the speed.

never read that b4, sorry

I really can't imagine non-existence in cosmic terms.
