they only won by a marginal %?
I believed they expected a much stronger win by splitting the other 3's vote counts when they engineered this 4 horses race.

Their sense of relief is palpable. Now they have another 6 years to fix their detractors.

Imagine a country where the top spent more time fixing 65% of the population than on anything else.

The outcome went according to plan, but the quality of the win can be improved. But no sweat as the number of New Shittyzens will overwhelm the last pocket of resistance by Sporeans in another 5 years time. No need to repent, just prepare for funeral and extinction.

As in football, a win is a win.
The worst scenario would be a TJS or TKL victory, while I am sure they have a back-up plan should TCB wins.

In putting up a 4-cornered fight, the worst scenario has already been averted long ago.
This is a victory in whichever way you look at it for PAP. The only headache is the rise in portfolio for TKL and TJS in the future GEs or PEs for having COE before.

Why did they worry? If TT had lost, TCB would have won. Any problems, ESM would step in and settle.

For some unexplainable reasons, so do I. I felt the same way when Bruce Lee died. I did not know him personally, nor have I even seen him once in person, only all of his movies which, other than his charisma and fighting on screen, the acting sucks big time.

I have this hollow in my stomach, an emptiness, that I didn't feel when my mum passed away from cancer, because her suffering ended when she died. She was a good person and I'm sure she's in good company now.

I feel sad for Singapore, and the future generations to come. While I acknowledge the PAP's past achievements, the stage has changed while the PAP has not.

*Sigh* I had looked so forward for a non-PAP president, even though in truth he would in all probabilities be a lame duck president, regardless of pre-election promises. He would be pushed aside, 'fixed' and probably would not last the tenure, in disgrace if he does not toe the line.

I need too go out to my neighborhood liquor store to get a USD11.50 1L bottle of Jamesson. Yeah, time to break out my pack of grass I had held back to celebrate, now only to commiserate with the 65%.

The result only cemented my fears that sinkies are beyond help.
Whatever is left of my hope from last GE has vanished.
Sinkies obviously have a strong stomach for pain and suffering.
I will fast forward my plans to leave for the sake of my children.

Bruce Lee fighting skill was lightning swift and to the point without equals and a fantastic experience to watch forevermore. But that's not all, I disagree his acting skill sucks. His facial expression and gesture deliveries were also tops and studied by many HK and even western actors. Only shortcoming I think is he couldn't possibly act a bad guy.

Eg the eyes staring, finger pointing and fist clenching coordination in Fist Of Fury, 现在让你吃纸,下次要你吞玻璃。 That's immortal classic in cinematology that even Hollywood applauds in amazement.

He did one role as a bad guy in Marlowe, starring James Garner, in that he played a henchman sent to intimidate Garner but fell out the balcony to his death during the fight. I think he appeared for less than a minute.

Watched it at the State Cinema in the old New World Kitchener Rd. State Cinema screens all the reruns, I watched all my James Bond movies there, all the wannabe James Bond like 007 1/2, Our Man Flint, Dean Martin's Matt Helm, as well as Clint Eastwood spagetti westerns. Costs $0.50 but for popular ones, you would have to buy from the 3 scrapers for $0.70. Still a secondary school student then, so sometimes have to leave school early in order to secure the cheaper tickets.

The only reason I watched Marlowe was : STARRING Bruce Lee

I remember sometimes they had these marathon sessions, where for the price of a tix they would show 2 James Bond movies back to back e.g. Thunderball & Gold Finger:)

I m not saying that they are worried, but they if are shocked. They should have expected a much better % for Tony with this arrangement.

Their reputation probably had gone the other way round after this PE in some.

My only worry is that this weak win will cause STI to drop more points tomorrow...

Yup, all those Our Man in Istanbul type of wannabe JB movies, but for 50 cts, it's a cheap way to while away 90 minutes. You remember the 3 scalpers? The woman who looked permanently pregnant? The 10 cts for 3 sticks of Matterhorn, or Craven A?

Sorry to hijack this thread, this will be last post on State.

Don't worry bro, when PAP fired their bullet at the opposition supporters, it will splinter and injured the PAP supporters too. As a matter of fact, 60% Singaporeans deserved to be screwed. Opposition supporter have nothing to lose but more to gain. We welcome PAP challenge or do they dare?

I think it is a blessing in disguise.
Now that PAP rules everything again, the hatred against them will grow far and larger.
The younger generation will not take it lightly.
