This email circulating on the internet had a STOMPer wondering the authenticity of its claims, as pictures attached in the email show feet supposedly reduced to this horrific state, after the wearer bought some slippers ostensibly made in China.

Johnny emailed STOMP and said:

"Is it real or fake?"

The forwarded contents of the email reads:

"Chinese thongs bought from Walmart. Do not buy!

"Remember the paint on kids' toys?

"Hi,

"This is very true as I heard it in news from one of our local radios here that our govt has to be extra careful on these cheap imports from China .

"These include clothes, food, toys, slippers and even glasses because the Chinese are using some strong but cheap chemical in their goods.

"Cheap is becoming expensive and at the same time fatal. I nearly bought one pair of the slippers below for myself last week at the Japanese $2 shop at IMM last week."

That's a pair of tainted slippers! That's why wear scandals and not slippers. Better still wear shoes with socks.
