The MIWs are always fastest to share the spot light and claim credit whenever they see there's opportunity for our local sportsman to get a medal.

PAP will ulimtately claim the gold for itself than the schooling swimmer. This sillypore government thick-skinned self-righteousness is nothing new.

I hope Singaporeans learn from this . We don't need the PAP or indeed any party. Ruling parties always feed the people with this delusion. Bad for the country in the long run. Absolute power always leads to repression when results are not seen.

I think our Swimming association was left untouched all this while. Maybe that is why Swimming is doing fine compared to FAS.

It was a surreal moment for Schooling, who had just beaten three of the greatest butterfly exponents in Phelps, South Africa's Chad Le Clos and Hungary's Laszlo Cseh, all of whom tied for second.

"That sounds like a lot of pressure. I don't think I'm anywhere close to these three guys next to me," he said modestly in reply to the question.
