桃園1名牙醫日前替1名國中生製作假牙時，不小心將「高速手機」碰到他的舌根，導致嚴重撕裂傷，當場血流如注。事後這名學生向醫師提告業務過失傷害罪，但經調解後，該名牙醫提出賠償，少女同意後願意撤告。
據《聯合新聞網》報導，這名學生在去年5月19日前往桃園1間牙醫，製作右下大臼齒的陶瓷假牙，不料牙醫師在操作高速牙醫手機時，因為太靠口腔後方，竟不小心將轉速高達每分鐘35萬轉以上的渦輪機頭，碰到患者的舌根，讓他當場血流不止、痛苦不堪。
這名學生事後向醫師提告業務過失傷害罪，但後來雙方經過調解委員會的調解之後，決定接受醫師賠償，並具狀撤回告速，檢方偵結予以不起訴處分。
「高速牙醫手機」簡稱高速手機或直接叫做手機，主要用來做治療和修復，如打洞、切削等；低速手機則是用來打磨及拋光。看牙醫時如果過於緊張，造成舌頭扭動，會讓牙醫不易進行治療，建議看牙醫時放輕鬆，以免增加牙醫治療的難度。
