New Delhi: As the 23 year old gang-rape victim fights for her life in Safdarjung hospital, the accused in the case are having a tough time behind bars.
According to sources, it has been revealed that the main accused in the Delhi gangrape case was not only beaten up by the jail inmates but was also forced to consume human excreta and urine. After the attack on main accused, Mukesh, the jail authorities are planning to shift him to a separate cell.
On Thursday morning, the girl’s male friend, an engineer in a software company who was in the bus, had identified Mukesh, one of the six accused, during TIP (Test Identification Parade) at Tihar jail, a senior police official said.
Meanwhile, the victim has been put on what is called a T-piece trial, which is one of the testing methods used for weaning patients off the mechanical ventilation that involves pumping oxygen directly into the trachea through a connected tube.
Doctors are planning to wean her off the ventilator on Friday to examine if she can breathe on her own or not.
