"Life is hard and then you die."
Life is tough, but there are ways of dealing with it. May not make it less tough, but at least you please yourself, make it less complicated and go out fighting.

-- If you think that the government has not done well or not given you a good deal, don't vote for them.
-- If you think that an organization has not given you the goods, services or treatment that you deserve, don't deal with them or deal with them only in ways that benefit you.
-- If you think that someone is an arsehole, don't associate with him or her. Doesn't matter whether it's your parent, sibling, child, spouse, boss, colleague, so-called friend, agent, broker, banker, chiobu, fb, favourite fl, whatever etc.

Life will still be tough and we will still die, but life will be simpler and more satisfying.

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

The Complete Serenity Prayer

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
-- Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

(A long version of the Prayer)

God grant me the SERENITY to
accept the things I cannot change;
COURAGE to change the things I can;
and WISDOM to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it:

Trusting that He will make all things
right if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen

(Another long version of the Prayer from Ireland)

God take and receive my liberty,
my memory, my understanding and will,
All that I am and have He has given me

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference

Living one day at a time
Enjoying one moment at a time
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it

Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to his will
That I may be reasonably happy in this life

Dealing with life is easy if you're smart
In-laws are a nightmare even for the wise

I agree, and thanks for the encouragement!

As of now, my main real-life problems are with my parents and siblings. *sigh*
