Sam & others .. need help and suggestions.

A mixed bag of 20 of us are keen to do a cycling holiday from point A to point B over 2 weeks, 8 days cycling set aside. Half are hard core and the other half are mixed lot but all prepared to bring their drop bars.

Plan is to use a 2 hired support vehicles driven by riders in turns and carry baggage and spares. There will be short stretches where the hard core want to get their high but no drafting or heavy stuff while the other group will follow.

No idea where point A or point B. Any ideas anyone?

I honestly would not recommend cycling on NZ roads. Off road trails are far safer and much less stressful.

Most NZ roads are single lane with no road shoulder and 10 tonne truck and trailer units thunder past at 100kph. It's not for the faint hearted.

Thanks Sam, the truck bit is an issue. We might switch to Surrey and Boxhill as all are drop bar gang members.

Moment I saw the picture of. Otago trail, I knew no hope on a 110 even if we switch to 25.

In addition the roads are crap.... very little asphalt. The majority of roads are chip seal which is most unpleasant on a road bike with 110psi in the tyres.
