Husband hit wife's lover and cheated him of $3k

A JOBLESS man who punched his wife's lover and cheated him out of almost $3,000 was jailed for six months yesterday.
Yazid Ab Rahman, 33, had discovered that Mr Abdul Hamid Md Jana was having an affair with his wife.
The pair met on Facebook in 2012 and began dating in 2013.
He arranged to meet Mr Abdul Hamid at a Housing Board void deck in Jurong East Street 21 on April 3 last year, to "sort out the matter".
After introducing himself, he hit the 27-year-old in the face several times, leaving him with a cut on his nose.
Yazid's wife had told her lover she was pregnant - although it is unclear who the father was - and had been receiving money from him.
On July 1 last year, Yazid, who had found out about the discussions and arrangement, lied to Mr Abdul Hamid that his wife had undergone an abortion.
He induced him to hand over $2,880 in bank transfers and cash, in several instalments.
It is understood that Yazid's wife had, in fact, suffered a miscarriage.
Yazid pleaded guilty to two charges.
One other charge of threatening that he and his friends would assault Mr Abdul Hamid was taken into consideration.
For cheating, Yazid could have been jailed for up to 10 years and fined.
For voluntarily causing hurt, he could have been jailed for up to two years and fined up to $5,000.
