In the Middle East, neither Iran nor the U.S. has secured a definitive victory. While the U.S. homeland remains relatively secure due to geographic distance, the proximity of Cuba presents a different strategic challenge. If Cuba were to deploy a massive drone swarm followed by the kind of integrated rocket and missile strikes used by Iran, it could potentially overwhelm even the most advanced air defense systems, such as those utilized by Israel to strike the US mainland.

Cuba too close to US to beat the embargo and sanctions.
Right now, US basically starving cubans to death.
Was cuba a threat to US. Nope. US merely. Playing around and changing leaders they dont really like.

In the 60's, soviet wanted to Place nuclear missiles in cuba. That made US wanted to overthrow cuba communist regime by using cuban dissidents to invade the island.. It failed.
