I think he doesn't speaks MinNan often so he is not very fluent in it. However i think his hokkien is far more chim than our local one..there is a kind of Taiwanese tone in it which i think many of us would really loves to hear. Many Singaporean Hokkien speakers sees Taiwanese Hokkien as standard hokkien so CSM in fact won respect for speaking in this way. Uncles and aunties i've heard loves CSM 's Taiwanese accent Hokkien as they were also avid viewers of many Taiwanese dramas like AI,YI NAN WANG and Yeshi Rensheng... CSM should speaks more Hokkien in order to get closer to the heartlanders.
