Like to find out where to find info on Criminal Statutes of Limitations for Singapore.

Meaning, what is the length of time that cannot be exceeded between committing the crime and getting charged in court.

My beer buddy needs this info, so any help will be appreciated.

No statute of limitations for crime in Singapore.

For civil cases, statute of limitations is 6 years, i.e. can't sue for compensation after 6 years have passed.

http://statutes.agc.gov.sg/aol/sear...2d-2bcd69c78bfe" Status:inforce Depth:0;rec=0

tonychat borrowed money from an army friend and ran road no limitation .... heard the friend still look for him after 20 years

No statute of limitations for crime in Singapore.

Which means Old Fart could still be prosecuted
For illegal assemblies held at his basement
Evidence is no problem for he confessed in book
Even said he knew that it was a crime
Hence they were held surrepticiously
Attorney General not doing his work

Oh I see.....Why like that? In USA, there is such a thing. That is only fair as evidence gets deteriorated over time.

Why cannot like that? Where got unfair?
Article 12 of Constitution says all citizens are equal before the law
Limitation sends wrong message to bad guys using cul de sacs
Those who use knock dusters to do bad things to innocent victims
Need only throw tools away after deed is done and need not repent
British are fair minded and wanted to prevent such abuse
Sinkies are dumb fucks who dare not speak truth to power

To what I know civil matters have 6 yrs limitation whereas criminal one has NO limitation........

Not all gets deteriorated over time but key witness may up lorry by then. Other evidence can and will be used. Depends on your luck at times.

What if someone killed your son/wife/daugheter or loved ones, then can't charge him coz time has passed? Fair for him to get away with the killing?

It's not fair but even the accused needs fairness.

It cuts both ways.

What if your arch enemy fabricated evidence and used false witnesses to implicate you for a crime you did not commit 20 years ago? And all the original evidence had already been disposed of or had deteriorated badly and the genuine witnesses had either passed on or moved elsewhere?

Would you let 9 guilty man go for fear of wrongly convicting one innocent man, or would you rather convict 9 innocent men so that one guilty guy gets his just deserts?

Deterioration of evidence over time is just excuse
There will be cases where this does not apply
For instance the accused confessed no boasted
That he held illegal assemblies in his Oxley basement
Evidenciary difficulties does not arise in this example
Prosecutor simply has to tender relevant pages
Of that voluminous and boastful tome Sinkie Story

Conversely evidence can become better over time
How can a criminal be allowed to escape punishment
Cos DNA technology was not advanced at time of crime
Besides aren't there rules governing what sort of evidence
Judge can use in making findings of fact necessary
To establish that crime has been committed by accused

You mean Sinkie judges are too dumb or afraid
To apply these rules in a fair and impartial manner
Regardless of status or power of person in dock
Me have to deny that I am a lawyer but me thinks
Sinkies are not too dumb to understand these
If put to them in simple easy to understand way

If illegal assemblies of four or more are so harmful
To society that long arm of the law has to be invoked
Even in this internet age then how can one justify
Prosecuting a few Sinkies walking down a path
Albeit with "rude" T shirts to say what needs to be said
While Old Fart goes unpunished for his own breaches

Isn't surreptitious illegal assemblies more harmful
Than those held openly and in a transparent manner
Actually nobody cares if Old Fart goes to jail or not
For breach of law he brazenly used on his foes
Punishment that he deserves is not to be meted
By court of law but that of public opinion and history

Will upcoming musical have scenes of these meetings
Or script writer will be very liberal with the truth
Make sure there are only three jokers in basement
Like dat better go watch Mikado or Pirates of Penzeance
