Credit card details available for RM3
IT costs a mere RM3 for some quarters to buy information about your credit card, reported China Press. The daily said that personal details and transactions of customers relating to credit cards, bank accounts, e-mail accounts and e-mail addresses can be bought “underground” for between RM3 and RM390.
It also reported that some syndicates would buy the information to make counterfeit cards. The daily reported that a spokesman for a computer security firm had said that syndicates could access the information through security loopholes on the Internet. She also said the syndicates would target financial institutions and Internet service providers to “phish” for personal details.
