In NZ transmission occurred from one hotel room to another via the ventilation system. The same thing happened in Western Australia.
The fact that it is airborne is one of the main reasons why masks don't work. The virus can be transmitted via the respiratory system via the tear ducts in the eyes that drain into the sinus cavities.
Droplet infection is NOT the primary source of infection so all these dumb masks do absolutely nothing to stop the spread. In fact they make things worse because, other than medical professionals, nobody follows the instructions regarding their use, storage and disposal.
