SINGAPORE: Singapore will extend its “stabilisation phase” for another month as more time is needed to stabilise the COVID-19 situation, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday (Oct 20).
The Stabilisation Phase, which started on Sep 27 and was originally scheduled to last until Oct 24, was implemented to reduce the strain on the country's healthcare system.
Social gatherings were capped to a maximum of two while work-from-home became the default arrangement, among other measures.
“Unfortunately, given the continuing pressures on our healthcare system, more time is needed for the situation to stabilise,” said MOH in a media release.
The measures will be reviewed at the two-week mark and adjusted based on the COVID-19 community situation then, it added.

The whole notion of hammer-and-dance was adopted to keep the COVID from hitting the exponential phase, while elongating the growth phase and not entering the exponential phase, our healthcare system can be protected, hence the entire nation can be protected.

Would it peak? Yes it would peak then plataeu over a longer period of time, before it hits the decline phase. The critical thing now is the bolstering of our healthcare system before any new variant enters and disrupt the whole cycle again.

But in reality they screwed up big time and the stabilisation measures failed miserably and contributed to this huge mess and record loss of lives.
The PAP is like a student who failed its exam and keep giving itself extended time to repeat the exam again and again.
They keep giving excuses like first time doing it, virus did not follow its script ect2 while collecting multi million annual salaries and huge pensions .
