Quote:A man and his wife were each handed a year-long jail sentence for housing six Vietnamese prostitutes at their Sims Drive flat.

The jobless couple - Sim Boon Keong, 35, and his wife Huynh Die Tu, 33 - both entered a guilty plea for facilitating the women's entry into Singapore, harbouring them and living off their earnings.

Acting as their agent, Huynh liased with the women – aged 19-27 – via mobile phone messaging application WeChat.

She collected fees ranging between $1,100 and $1,900 to cover for their return air tickets as well as a $1,000 loan.

On top of that, Huynh also charged the hookers $20 for accommodation and food as they worked at pubs in the Jalan Sultan area as freelance hostesses, soliciting patrons for sex.

The arrangement was exposed after police received a tip-off and raided their Block 41 Sims Drive home last May.

District Judge Matthew Joseph remarked: "It is in the public interest that the sentence imposed by the court be a deterrence to others who are like-minded, from what might seem like a lucrative business for prostitution activities in Singapore."

Catch ikan bills to make up quota while big fishes go free......that's pappy style approach to dealing with crime.

How come the judge does not know that Prostitution is legal in singapore?

Sim boon KEONG should tell off thee judge that the Vietnamese chickens were for his own consumption which is nothing wrong since he is a natural aristocrap who owns his own street sims avenue.

1 less opposition supporter and his probably foreign mail-order bride. The opposition should learn to clean up their act and behave in a responsible manner if they wish to be taken seriously.

Stupid sinkies. Should spend 2 dollar to incorporate a private school and label it a cultural exchange program with homestay.

F1 is coming to town soon. If they are that good in catching OKTs, there are at least 2 who surfaces during F1 to cater to the needs of VVVIPs. Let's see if our enforcement officers are up to the mark.

Matthew Joseph is too holy to understand the real world. Prostitution per se is not an offence here.

You mean he does not know if the slit at the "HUMberger" is vertical or horizontal?? each time he does 'baking' the lights are off?

Let me visit him at the Community Court next week to check this out.

A victimless crime & they got 1 year.

When foreigners go around beating innocent people, there is a victim & medical bills & yet they only receive a few weeks:eek:
