Anyone know the costs of the reclaimed land at Garden By The Bay comparing to the land on which HDB flats are built? If the costs of reclaimed land is cheaper, PAP has a lot to explain why it is cheaper in the city than say Jurong. I hope someone in the construction industry could throw some light.

land on which HDB flats are built was given free from the Tunku how can it be more expensive than the downtown land reclaimed with top grade sand, even I want to sell them sand from Cumbodear they also say my sand no standard one

If I remember much of the land was stolen from the 'people' using the land acquisition act.

The PAP will of course deny this claiming that they paid for the land:rolleyes:

Same like why house in Jurong is cheaper than house in District 9 la, what else?

Same in ancient times, same is true today.

If you don't own the land, you own nothing at all.

HDB flat 'owners' are just tenants on a 99-year lease.

Even the landed property owners don't 'own' anything, because of the risk of getting smote by the Land Acquisition Act.

If you own the land, you can build whatever things you want on it. You don't need approval or permission from others. You are the landlord, you call the shots.

Even in the USA, your land can be acquired by eminent domain. Cannot complain about Singapore.

Land reclaim vary on cost.
1. Location>> how far the sand/rock use to reclaim>>import from ???
2. How deep the sea
3. Sea current/tide

Market rate for 1meter cubic of sea sand vary from $15~$30.
Some location they use the pump vacuum sand from the surrounding sea area to area they want to reclaim. SG is out of sand to suck from sea bed because almost 80% water line in SG is reclaim land. From Changi to Tuas facing south all are reclaim land.

Where do they get the sand from now?

"land on which HDB flats are built was given free from the Tunku"

Please explain further. I don't get you.
