SINGAPORE - The police have arrested four men and one woman, aged 17 to 26, for allegedly cheating customers over face masks sold on online marketplace Carousell amid the coronavirus outbreak here.

In a statement on Tuesday (Feb 18), the police said that since late January, they have received several reports from people who said they were cheated by sellers after they paid for face masks on Carousell.

The sellers would become evasive and uncontactable after the buyers made payments through bank transfers.

CCS will still consider those buyers cum hoarders who got cheated as "idiots".

The stupid "non idiots" are the ones that tried to cheat and got caught and the clever "non idiots" are those that didn't get caught.

It's the same in Q10. Paid but goods not sent. The only difference is that in Q10, it's the middle man that holds your money while in Carousel, its the seller. Spoke to one of the seller and understood that it's really a case of greed and mis-management of inventory.

Consider that the price of masks is rising every day, what would you do as a seller? Fulfill the orders which makes the most profit (last in first out), so those with the lower buy price are forced to wait, cancel their order or make a police report. This indirectly creates the illusion that masks are out of stock that CCS mentioned.

What millionaire ministers should do is follow the Chinese policies if they are not smart enough to come out with their own - fix the price of mask, fine and jail anyone who sells above that price.

This is what happens when the PAP bring foreigners to replace Sinkies. Jobless Sinkies have no choice. I hope the virus will continue to spread so that foreigners will get out and we can take back our country.

In a few months time, all these masks will be worthless when Covid disappears and the current overproduction in factories reaches the market.

There are other diseases and virus
Big outbreak crisis like this happen once in a very long time.
For other small outbreaks, there will be adequate masks in the store. Why need to stock up and see your mask turn yellowish and then throw away???

Carousell is infested with cheats and perverts... and that's for both sexes.
KNN a case study or survey needs to be carried out to determine the physiological thinking of a cheat referencing to a robber & theft to find out is it those cheats think that they can run away or just to extend being caught so that they can spend the money first KNN or else they should just go outside grab and run instead of wasting their own time and other peoples time KNN
