The former Formula 1 world champion died 20 years ago on Thursday and the Brazilian outfit paid their respect ahead of a cup game

Corinthians players paid tribute to former Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna ahead of their match against Nacional on Wednesday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iconic Brazilian's death on Thursday.

Players donned replicas of the three-time world champion's helmet as they lined up before kick-off to pay their respects.

Senna, who was born in Sao Paulo, was a known Corinthians fan and is widely regarded as one of the best Formula 1 drivers ever.

The Brazilian died at the tender age of 34 in an accident during the Grand Prix of San Marino in 1994.
