SINGAPORE — A verbal dispute between two elderly women escalated into a physical brawl at a coffeeshop in Serangoon on Monday night (22 June), leaving one hospitalized and both currently assisting the police with investigations.

Videos of the dramatic altercation, which quickly circulated on Facebook, showed the two "aunties" trading blows, slaps, and grappling on the ground.

How the Fight Broke Out.

According to video footage of the incident at Block 261 Serangoon Central, the dispute began as a heated verbal argument. The situation turned physical when one of the women, dressed in green and holding a walking stick, poked the other woman with it.

This provoked the second woman, who was initially seated on a Personal Mobility Aid (PMA). She stood up to confront her opponent face-to-face. As the woman in green raised her walking stick defensively, the PMA user attempted to snatch the stick away and threw a punch at her face.
The momentum caused both women to lose their balance and crash heavily onto the floor.

Sparring Continued on the Floor.

The tumble did not stop the fight. Even while seated on the ground, the two women continued to grapple and exchange blows.

Witnesses and bystanders stepped in to intervene, with varying results:

One individual was seen pulling the hair of the woman in green.

Another woman attempted to restrain the PMA user by holding her arm, but she broke free to engage in a "slapfest."

A second video showed a man and a woman attempting to separate the pair, but the two women continued to swing at each other, with the woman in green landing a hard smack to the PMA user's face.

Police and Medical Response.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed they received a call for assistance at approximately 7:55 PM.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted shortly after at around 8:25 PM.

A 69-year-old woman was conveyed conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

A 65-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but refused medical conveyance to the hospital.

Official Status: Both women are currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations into the incident. Images: Facebook Ellen Teo

Left pic from 2024. Right pic from 2026. The HK roast meat stall was replaced by a Thai cuisine stall.

The mala stall (partly hidden by the drinks stall) in corner is still doing well.
