When a 23-year-old Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar was handed a 6 month suspended sentence in the UK in December 2010 for possessing child pornography videos, the MOE promptly revoked his teaching scholarship. As he was also expelled from the University of York, he was not allowed to stay legally in the UK.

Sun Xu (孙旭) lost only the scholarship for the last semester, and may be allowed to graduate. Meaning, there's a real possibility he will be a bona fide alumnus of the National University of Singapore. NUS Provost Tan Eng Chye stated their position thus:

i say already all these doing is to win the hearts of the FT so they will become citizen to vote for the PAP... Do you think PAP care about the well-being of the country and its citizen.. TOTALLY NO!!!

they only care about themselves and their pockets..that is self-serving motive.

i refer to such behaviour as sinkie behaviour.

please check my signature of what sinkie behaviour means..

i always advise good people to either fight against or stay away from sinkie behaviour. it is the worst kind of human character polluting behaviour ever exists on earth , it does nothing good but only damage.

if sinkieland want progress and improvement in human quality, please stay away from such low life behaviour.

you are not comparing apples with apples lah.

one is being a foul mouth. the other is partaking in child abuse.

doesnt mean if he is a singaporean you can give him exemption to do he wants.

Don't pray pray with Sun Xu ok!!!
After he graduated, he needs to serve 6 yrs in SG, meaning he may be your immediate boss in the very near future.
Be scare, very scare.
Revenge is near.
Better respect, kowtow to him.
When he call you a dog, you better sit.

And that is why he needs to be expelled from Singapore with his scholarship revoked. Can you imagine how he will treat his Singaporean subordinates if he sees them as dogs?

The comparison with the Singaporean scholar is a little unbalanced due to the nature of the crime but it is not that far off. The concern with the earlier case is how he will treat his students if he becomes a teacher.
