Come on S'pore, if Tunisia can do it, so can we!!

You want Sinkies to be spontaneous and be willing to demonstrate at the same time? :D

The only time I see Sinkies spontaneous is when they queue for the best value deals, overnight somemore.

Don't make my toes laugh leh! Get real!

That is why whatever happened in Tunisia will not happen here.

Singaporeans are not desperate and not hungry. there is no social force strong enough to force people to held demostrations and even go on a riot. The only riot I have seen so far are from those KNS gangster-wannebe who think that fighting and losing some pieces of their body is cool.

For those of you who call for demostrations, you are as cowardly as those who want others to commit terrorist act but they themselves are safe in some caves.

You wnat things done, some real balls and stop telling others how bad things are. Not everyone think the same way.

Protest for f**k?

If we are not happy, just vote PAP out during the next election. What need is there to protest? Protest for the sake of protesting? TS sounds like that moron Tonychat!!

:)

balless and dickless low life like Tonychat will never be found be in any protest.

All he can is hide somewhere and type and not voice out orally.

Sane and sound posting. Protests will come naturally and spontaneously when too many people are oppressed beyond a certain threshold. No permit would be applied for. It'd just happen. Campaigning for approval for protest as a form of human rights is oxymoronic.

Let's put it this way. If SDP wins power and liberalise protest regulation, then other parties and even PAP start protesting for every little thing they disagree with, the streets are going to messy and the government would be brought down by non-democratic means, i.e. by protests. Fresh elections are forced to be called, new party elected, then another round of other parties protesting forcing a vicious cycle, a la Thailand, so called the land of freedom and thousand smiles. In reality, it's the land of perpetual entrapment in power struggle and thousand coups.

I think I want more opposition in Parliament or a more balanced and vibrant Parliament. I don't think I want a street protest culture.

Is that why LKY surrounds himself with so many bodyguards & has relatives in charge of homeland security :)

How many Sporeans can truely claim that their lives have improved in last 10 years? Sporeans might be willing to accept sacrifices if they see a possibility of future improvement, but with the current environment of increasing prices & falling wages, I'm sure there are alot of unhappy people out there.

Throw in the fact that foreigners are pouring into Spore & getting $$$ from the PAP & jobs. Even if the foreigner is rich & driving around in a Ferarri, it's going to generate envy, jealousy, anger, resentment...., from locals.

What happened in Tunisia surprised many because economically they were not that badly off. However they had a family monopolizing large segments of the economy.
