COE and road tax are not even the highest expenses of owning a car. Right now, the costs of buying a car: COE, ARF, GST, Excise Duties all can be financed. Supposedly, to simplify and streamline COE and Road Tax into being charged per use through the OBU, that means on top of the monthly instalments, all drivers of all vehicle class will have to fork out cash, a hefty sum that at least will not be lower than the cost of COE over the lifetime of the car. So, if can't be financed= no go..

Why is it justified for pap to charge motorists road tax when it is charging them for road usage via the OBU? It is ignorant singaporeans like you that the pap is bold to continue with its evil ways

I don’t think road tax will be abolished, more likely to be incorporated with the OBU, pay as you drive.
