SINGAPORE: The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested on Thursday five suspected drug offenders and seized S$71,000 worth of illicit drugs.
The total drug seizure amounted to approximately 200 grammes of 'Ice' and fragments of Yaba tablets, about 1,173 Erimin-5 tablets, 23 grammes of Ketamine and 150 'Ecstasy' tablets.
Two suspects were arrested in Bukit Batok West.
One is a suspected Singaporean drug runner while the other is a Malaysian suspected to be a drug courier.
The CNB officers recovered about 30 Erimin-5 tablets from the sling bag of the suspected drug runner.
There were also 110g of 'Ice' and 150 'Ecstasy' tablets concealed in three different plastic wraps in the Malaysian's sling bag.
CNB then raided an apartment in Bukit Panjang believed to be the hideout of the drug trafficker who the runner was working for.
A sizeable amount of drugs was recovered from a partially-burnt cereal box, including 50g of 'Ice', 23g of ketamine and 1,170 Erimin-5 tablets.
Various drug-packing paraphernalia were also recovered.
Two other suspected drug abusers, both female, were arrested in the apartment.
The suspected drug trafficker, his drug runner and the drug courier will be investigated for trafficking in controlled drugs.
If convicted, they may face a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment and 15 strokes of the cane.
