CNA News Readers cannot pronounce properly

Many places in spore still cannot receive clear broadcast, especially bad at changi airport.

I used to have problems receiving Malaysian TV stations because tall buildings were popping around my home but never had any any problems with radio reception.

Nowadays english is not that useful anyway, half the foreigners in Spore don't even understand it :p

Regressed is probably more apt. Yes, those days they Brain of Britain, The Goon Show, Round the Horne and stuff like that.

I was always impressed by the depth of knowledge of the participants in the " Brain of Britain". This is a far cry from many of the talents in our gov't or the foreign "talents" being imported into Spore

I guess it's not only the level of english that's regressed but also the definition of a "talent" :)

Mark Richmond also terok, although try to sound like ang moh.

Listen to Jia 88.3 and 97.2 better. Improve your China at the same time.

I get turned off and cringed each time I watched the CNA news in the evening.. Too many American speakers wannabes.. That Pinoy Timothy Go is one of them..Then, there used to be this female newscaster who read the news with a very iritating strong Yankee accent.. Forget her name, but she really is a big turned off.. It seems to me that CNA prioritise good looking female newscasters over good reading of the news..

Used to be Starhub TV subscriber before I switched to Singtel Mio TV.. On Starhub TV, I used to be hooked watching BBC World News. Remembered watching their newscasters reading the news in such a professional manner. Remembered how they carried the news to the whole world during the 911 attacks and the 2003 Gulf war.. Mishal Hussein, Stephen Sackur, Nik Gowing, Lyse Doucet, all of them are legends of the Broadcasting world..

If CNA thinks it can rivals the BBC, then they are dead wrong.. Having multi national correspondents does not mean that they are on par with the British..

I still remember an interview with LKY where he explained the rationale for the creation of CNA. He said it was to break the monopolies held by the west & present an asian perspective on the news:D

In terms of professionalism, in my opinion the only other station that rivals the BBC is CBC(Canadian Broadcasting Service).

I wonder if people are aware that Spore franchised programs like "Money Mind" from Canada:confused:
