As of now, the only PRC workers willing to come to SG to work are those from the rural areas who can't find jobs in the major cities. The jobs in the major cities are more attractive than coming all the way to SG. So SG is literally scraping the bottom of the barrel. In another ten years' time, there won't be any PRC workers willing to come over unless the Chinese economy crashes.
Singapore started scraping the bottom of the barrel first in the world by importing PRC, Pinoys & shit. Then they got Tin Pei Ling, it proved the bottom of the barrel has been well scraped and has proceeded to the septic tank!
That is assuming that the PAP is going to reduce the number of FTs. I wouldn't bet on it & I expect them to look elsewhere. There are many other desperate people in the 3rd world that they can exploit.
The only way to stop the PAP is to put more opposition into parliament. Then the PAP will be too busy .....
They are less welcomed anywhere in the world. Oz and Canada are also clamping down on prc immigrants. USA is still as tough to get in.
One has to wonder, if prc workers no longer prefer sg, where else can they go? Africa or Middle East? As if the work condition and pay over there are that attractive.
Rich PRC chinese have come under greater scrutiny in the 1st world. The concern the 1st world has is that these chinese have links to criminal organisations.
Unlike in Spore, the authorities in the west don't want shady characters in their county.

We are talking about an enormous country with a massive population. There will always be hordes of them willing to come over here to work for under $1k/mth and doing grunge work. To them, it sure beats the village shacks they live in. And when they arrive here, despite a lowly paid job, they behave with all the superiority of a northern Mandarin. Let us be clear about something: We will continued to be bothered by this pestilence for eons to come.
