i've been using water straight from the tap for sometime in the past, and even after boiling it, there's some gucky residue. for years, i've resorted to distillation, and the system i rely on is the waterwise purifier. not only does it purify water from any source, it can produce 6 gallons of distilled water in a day or 1 gallon in 4 hours. as it goes into my drinking water container at around ph7 with acidity in the air bringing the ph level down a tiny notch, i supplement the distilled water with alkaline water of ph9-10 at a ratio of 1:4. so far, this routine has been running for over 5 years, and the system is still performing flawlessly.....except for calcite deposits or guck collected in the waterwise canister, and i'll explain that later.

alkaline water of ph9-10 used to supplement distilled water to increase overall ph level to 8.

besides removing unnecessary chlorine and fluoride from drinking water, distillation is a sure fire method to remove all other impurities and substances, including minerals good and bad, from the water. most unbeknown to folks, water from reservoirs and the tap has trace amounts of drugs and pharmaceutical by-products when the water is recycled via the process of settlement, filtering and reverse osmosis. but lo and behold, the problem with my tap water is not the trace amount of pharmaceutical by-products discharged from millions of lanjiao and cheebye, and sometimes irresponsible and illegal disposal of counter drugs from family medicine cabinets into the drain, but the invisible amount of unwanted calcite and mineral deposits flowing in the water ecosystem.

and here's the proof - the thick deposit of guck collected in the waterwise canister after 1 month of distillation. the canister is the workhorse of the system, and it boils the water until steam is produced, at which condensation happens at the top with a fan to cool the steam to produce drops of water. every month, a vinegar solution is used to clean the canister and dissolve the guck. this time, only a small amount of vinegar is used, and the bottom of the canister is clean while the rest above the vinegar line is caked with calcium and other mineral deposits. this is the guck that forms gallstones and bladder stones in your body over time.

California is becoming a desert soon.

a reason why i started with distillation on my own years ago. i'm ahead of 99% of other stupid zero-foresight californians, thanks to pap indoctrination and preparation. :D

How much does your distiller set up cost & where can I buy it?

Thanks for the info. I googled & chance upon this website that says drinking distilled water leads to early death.

Are you aware of this?

it's a bogus report sponsored by the bottled water industry. bottled water business in the u.s. accounts for billions of dollars annually, and every beverage and food company is jumping onto the bandwagon to sell it. the profit margin is extremely high as water is essentially free in some counties and very low cost in others. many of these companies just apply filtration from tap water. alhambra was caught doing just that and selling their water as "fresh from springs."

of course, the half truth is that drinking distilled water in its pure form is not good for health as it has no nutrients and good minerals necessary for the body. water from springs and snow in the mountains are great because they pick up healthy minerals in runoffs as they melt and flow downstream. snow is essentially icy storage of distilled water processed by nature - evaporation, condensation, and snowfall. all forms of natural water including rain pick up acid in the atmosphere and become acidic, i.e. below ph of 7. it is therefore necessary to neutralize the acidic distilled water with alkaline water and add minerals to it. that is the other half of the truth. and with that, you get a healthy drinking water system without being fooled by the bottled water industry. ;)

PAP taught u preparation? They are not prepared for anything themselves!

Do u do reverse osmosis and plutonium centrifuge isotope separation too?followed by some color chromatography testing and add a touch of Fuji mountain natural spring water to make it more palatable?

For NS boys, it's either drink from the tap or die of thirst. ;)

You don't really need an expensive water filter. Get a cheap charcoal filter, and you can see/taste the difference before and after filtration.

Of course, there are those who take pride in Singapore's govt and public institutions, and they prefer the organic Newater taste. :D

sinkies can survive in the harshest of conditions anywhere in the world (even siberian tigers don't dare go near a sinkie), thanks to the pap. :D

no ro for me, but am tempted to use centrifuges iranian style. fuji is too sulfuric. spring water is more pure in utah or colorado.

there's a charcoal filter in the waterwise system, i.e. when water condenses and drips into carafe.
