Civil Serpents get 1.75 month bonus. Deserve or not?

They are technically not civil servants. HDB is a offloaded from the Ministry of National Development and called a stat board. So those people there are not civil serpents as they do not work for the govt. of Singapore.

There's no true distinction between the public sector or the private sector in Sinkieland. Employees of statutory boards such as HDB, IRAS and IRAS may not be civil servants per se but they are hardly independent of the gahmen, are they?. To put it succinctly, they are all in cahoots!

To me its very simple. Civil serpents should never get a bonus. When they agree to work for the govt. they agree to do their job for their stated salary, and they know they have a moral and performance obligation to do the job to the best of their abilities. Many of them work for the govt, because of the stability and the "iron bowl" nature of the job. As such, they are different from the private sector where 2 quarters of poor performance can get you fired.

In addition, their bonus is ridiculously based on the 5.4% growth in the economy. Exactly what if anything did 76,000 civil serpents contribute to this growth? If their contributions to the economic growth is dubious, than why should thye receive a bonus based on the work of the rest of the country. The PSD is fucking ridiculous. This fuckers suka suka give themselves bonus based on factors that they were never in control of. If bonuses should be given, it should be based on how their department perform, how efficient they were, and how much money they saved the taxpayer. In a private corp., bonus based on performance is easy to measure. if a certain company with 5,000 employees had a 20% increase in revenues, 50% increase in profits and a 40% increase in stock price, than its very easy to see that these 5000 employees did well and deserve a certain amount of bonus. No company would be so stupid as to give their employees a bonus simply based on how well the economy performed, instead of how well their company perform. This makes the PSD look so fucking stupid and moronic.

This is true, there are some cases I have been told in the civil service when somehow, your supervisor knows whether u voted for PAP or not. This is especially true for super scale levels.

Although I've heard that one's VOTE is SECRET, I have my doubts from stories others have told me.

A friend's relative in the teaching field lost the gov't job after voting opposition. A husband & wife who returned to Spore after being away from Spore went to re-register for voting. Only the husband was successful & not the wife. The wife had voted opposition while the husband PAP. Maybe it was just coincidence:confused:

The people who told me the stories believed it was part of the PAP dirty tricks. Even if one's vote is secret I'm sure that there are many ears around it's difficult to hide ones true feelings towards the PAP:rolleyes:

Today'd bonus is a dirty trick of the Govt. It used to be the NWC added to your salary every year. That 3 to 4 % annual increase to take care of inflation was accumulative unlike today's bonus which is once off. So if you don't get an increasing larger bonus each year, that year you are not getting your NWC. If you get a lower bonus, you are in fact getting a pay cut. People are thinking they are getting a real bonus. What a laugh!
