After years of political turmoil that saw rapid turnover at the prime minister’s office, Anwar Ibrahim’s first 12 months as Malaysia’s leader might feel like a success in itself.
Except a stalled reform agenda has meant the 76-year-old has been unable to boost the nation’s revenues and pare debt, as the rising cost of living hits the pockets of ordinary Malaysians.

Malaysia is Germany's choice as a trade, export hub
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Germany has chosen Malaysia to be its export and trade hub, apart from China.
KUALA LUMPUR: Germany has chosen Malaysia to be its export and trade hub, apart from China, the Dewan Rakyat heard today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this comes after the trade war between the United States and China, which had impacted the global economy, especially to countries that export to China, including Malaysia.

"Germany's policy is to de-risk, meaning to reduce risk and not rely on only one country, so they chose other countries (to trade with).
"So, at this moment, Germany has chosen Malaysia as their export and trade hub, apart from China, and this will help us."

For somebody who served as minister and deputy PM for many years, I would have thought he already know how to reform the economy.
But he is as blur as a novice or he is now taking over what used to be umno source of finance/ income if same policies remain.

Jihu economy is good
They have tons of resources and easy to manage with 30 million people.
Jiu hu economy is shackled by protectionism and monopolies.
Toyota, hyundai, GM, VW wanted to set up Manufacturing base but was denied. Can you imagine any other country that stop investors from coming in.

Factory output in the key electronics sector gained 2.6 per cent from the year-ago period, reversing from January’s 4.7 per cent year-on-year decline. Most segments grew for the month, with infocomms and consumer electronics recording the largest jump at 30.9 per cent. Only the computer peripherals and data storage segment contracted 10.7 per cent in February.

Other clusters that recorded rises were:

  • Biomedical manufacturing (27.4 per cent)
  • Transport engineering (19.6 per cent)
  • Chemicals (11.2 per cent)
In transport engineering, the aerospace segment grew 37.3 per cent from January’s low production base, which was partly due to component shortages. Conversely, the marine and offshore engineering segment declined 3.5 per cent from a lower level of activity in the shipyards due to the Chinese New Year holidays.
