日前美國與泰國警方通力合作，追蹤一名在泰國居住的64歲瑞士籍男子，他因經營兒童色情網站，遭到當地警方逮捕。
根據《泰國網》報導，5月23日下午，泰國警方至巴吞他尼府蘭路卡（Lam Luk Ka）縣的私人住宅進行搜查，並且逮捕64歲的瑞士籍男子裴頓（Christian Python），警方從他家查扣一台電腦、硬碟、248部兒童色情影片，影片中主角年紀最小的僅有4歲。
警方指出，之前美國警方通過泰國兒童權益及打擊網路犯罪委員會（Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children – TICAC Task Force）聯繫到了泰國警方，稱現居泰國的嫌犯裴頓經營一個涉及兒童色情影片的網路平台，遭到美國警方通緝。
泰國警方檢查證物後發現嫌犯持有超過400GB的泰國兒童色情影片，數量之多達到了世界前10名。
裴頓被逮後稱，他因11年前受傷後無法正常工作，於是就開始下載兒童色情片來舒壓，他隨後也承認有上傳色情片至網路。警方目前正在檢查他的電腦，看看他是否有將所收集之色情影片牟利販售。
目前警方以擁有兒童色情材料之罪名將他起訴，若罪名成立，最高可判5年刑期，及10萬泰銖之罰款。
泰國警方近年全力掃蕩色情行業，泰國衛生部研究系統報告指出，泰國童妓佔賣淫人口40％之多，也因此，泰國成為許多戀童癖者的天堂。泰國政府從2006年開始開始堤供兒童色情受害人避難所，讓他們獲得全面保護，而警方也與當地非營利兒童保護組織及美國合作，對入境泰國的性侵罪犯加以管控。根據統計，泰國警方迄今已關閉了700個兒童色情網站。（吳雯淇／綜合外電報導）
