金槍不倒的下場，就是下體壞掉！印度有一名52歲男子，日前到醫院求救，告訴醫生他已經勃起長達兩天，因為出現劇烈疼痛的情況，才驚覺不對勁，但醫生檢查後發現壞死的組織太多，只能選擇把部分的陰莖切除，幸好經截肢手術後3個禮拜，男子已經可以上廁所。
根據《太陽報》報導，這起事件是印度喬治國王醫科大學（King George's Medical University）發表在英國醫學雜誌的案例，當時這一名52歲男子到醫院求助時表示，他的下體已經連續勃起48小時，並且已經出現疼痛感。醫生檢查後認為，這是陰莖異常勃起的症狀，馬上替男子進行抽血並且安排住院。
但負責治療的馬帝（Saqib Mehdi）醫生表示，「我們取出了他的尿道導管，但第二天卻發現，龜頭的壞死區域加深，已經跟正常的陰莖能明顯區別。」最後他只能替男子進行手術切除。
之前台灣也曾經發生過，一名21歲男子超過24小時「金槍不倒」而求助醫生，醫生檢查後發現是異常性陰莖持續勃起。醫師表示，沒性慾卻長時間的勃起，就是異常性陰莖勃起，如果沒有及時就醫，恐怕會造成終生不舉的遺憾。
