The US should have created a women's military wing for the Afghan army. they have the most to lose when the Taliban take over and would have at least put up a semblance of resistance. and who knows, they might have inspired the rest to fight on as well.

The approx. 300,000 Afghan army could not defend the country against the approx. 70,000 strong Taliban because the Afghan army is corrupt,
ill-trained,undisciplined,under-nourished, under-paid and unpaid. The Afghan people have to fight the war against the Taliban to determine their own destiny .
No Foreigner or Outside Forces is going to fight your war indefinitely.
