I must say one thing. China railway stations are absolutely massive. And the rail tracks dunno why so many. In this i must say maybe US was right in not building railway and focused on airlines. More environmentally sustainable.

I must say one thing. China railway stations are absolutely massive. And the rail tracks dunno why so many. In this i must say maybe US was right in not building railway and focused on airlines. More environmentally sustainable.

Massive because there are so many simultaneous arrival and departures all happening at the same time, plus there are many non-stopping (by-passing) trains which just zoom past the HSR stations. Hence easily there are 24 platforms. Some will zoom pass non-stop. Some will make typical less than 5 min stops. The computerized sign boards and staff guide passengers to the platforms and wait for train, and guide passengers to get off the platforms.

At any busy moment of the day, dozens of ticket inspection gates (检票口） got Queue of passengers to get face recognized, NRIC 刷脸刷身份证 & foreigners manually check passport & tickets. All busy. I had seen up to 30 simultaneously active ticket inspection gates. Some time at the same gate there were 2 separated queues, 1 Q for the currently inspecting train other Q for the NEXT. Efficiency is very very high.

Yet for bigger cities 2 or 3 or 4 or five HSR stations around the entire city because they move many millions of passengers daily.

广州的高铁站有：
【广州站（广州火车站）】位于广州市越秀区环市西路159号(近人民北路)
是中国铁路枢纽之一，中国十大火车站之一，广深铁路、京广铁路及广三铁路均交汇在此。
【广州南站】位于广东省广州市番禺区石壁街道
是连接深茂快铁、京广高铁、广深港高速铁路、贵广高铁、南广铁路和广珠城际的重要枢纽。
【广州东站】位于广州市天河区东站路1号
主要承担广(州)深(圳)线、广(州)九(龙)线、广(州)梅(州)汕(头)以及华东方面经京九铁路分流进入广州地区的旅客列车始发终到。
【广州北站】位于广东省广州市花都区站前路1号

原名花都火车站，途径线路京广铁路、京广高铁(武广段)。
