而像亨特一样抱着“帝国幻象”不放的人在英国并不罕见。今年2月，英国时任国防大臣威廉姆森曾宣称，要在“伊丽莎白女王”号航母正式进入部署状态后，第一时间将其派往南海。此言一出立即引发争议，被一些人嘲笑是在搞“老掉牙的炮舰外交”。
今日中国更不可能被威胁

5日，香港东区裁判法院审判一起涉包围香港警察总部及冲击立法会案件。一名31岁男子被指控参与6月21日包围香港警察总部，以及7月1日冲击香港立法会大楼，7月3日被警方拘捕，被控“袭警”“刑事毁坏”及“在公众地方行为不检”罪。目前，法官将案件押后到8月2日再审，不得保释。这是暴力冲击事件后第一名被诉讼的涉案分子。有港媒称，自暴徒冲击立法会后，警方已拘捕22名暴力分子。

如今，加文可谓“后继有人”了。
这个人不是别人，正是英国现任外交大臣杰里米·亨特。

也许你已经注意到，一段时间以来，亨特屡屡就涉港事务对中国内政指手画脚，甚至不惜对华放出“狠话”。
而种种荒谬言行，不仅让亨特获得被中国外交部发言人连续点名批评的“殊荣”，更是遭到了英国国内上下一致围攻。
警告中国将面临“严重后果”后，亨特遭怼
中国外交部发言人耿爽7月3日在外交部例行记者会上点名批评亨特“信口雌黄”的话音刚落，不到24小时内，亨特便用实际行动印证了上述评价。

在7月4日接受英国广播公司（BBC）采访时，亨特就涉港事务再度大放厥词，不仅叫嚣英国不会“忍气吞声”，甚至警告中国可能会面临“严重后果”。
值得玩味的是，尽管采访中主持人一再追问，亨特也始终没有说出“严重后果”具体是指什么。
他故作神秘地表示：作为外交大臣，在事情发生前就说出后果会有多严重是不明智的。
“必须保持战略模糊性。”他说。
这番牵强的解释显然对受众没有任何说服力。
在当天的一篇评论中，BBC犀利指出，亨特之所以发出威胁后却对有何具体举措语焉不详，正是“因为英国很少有外交或经济牌可打，而且亨特也不想挑起可能进一步损害中英关系的后续冲突”。
而英国《卫报》则在7月4日的报道中这样讽刺性地猜测道：亨特威胁中国将面临的“严重后果”到底是什么意思？他会派一艘航母吗？
事实上，让英国媒体和网友大为光火的，还有那场采访中的另一段对话：
BBC主持人追问“你知道中国是如何回应的吗”，并当着亨特的面原封不动地转述了外交部发言人耿爽在7月3日例行记者会上的发言：“他似乎还沉浸在昔日英国殖民者的幻像当中，还执迷于居高临下对他国事务指手画脚的恶习当中。”
听完这段转述后，亨特面不改色地表示：我还是中英友谊的坚定支持者。
但主持人没有接他的茬，而是直言：老实讲，我们面对后果并没有什么真正的应对机制。
也正是这番虚张声势又自相矛盾的“表演”，让英国网友们彻底看不下去了：

尽管面对BBC时亨特坚持了他对“中英关系友好”的“信念”。

对中英关系当前如何，BBC显然与亨特有截然不同的看法：英国与中国的关系处于低潮。现在的问题是损害是否持久。
在BBC看来，“危险之处在于，这场言论之争会感染更广泛的关系，并危及英国与中国的战略贸易利益，这在英国脱欧后会变得更加重要。”
英国《每日电讯报》则直接将亨特定义为“中国危机的制造者”。

专家：亨特言论已对中英关系造成伤害
被媒体辛辣讽刺的同时，亨特也遭到了英国网友的无情嫌弃。
中国现代国际关系研究院欧洲所副研究员曲兵告诉小锐，英国外交大臣亨特言论越来越“出格”，和中国方面有“斗气”的感觉。
“从今年6月初开始，亨特不断就香港问题表态。在引发中国批评之后，他还不断通过采访进一步表态。他的言论对中英关系造成了伤害，造成了直接的负面影响。”曲兵说。
在他看来，亨特的种种言行，显然有“为英国保守党党魁选举造势”的原因。
“目前，亨特正在和约翰逊争夺首相之位，而约翰逊在民调上领先，因此亨特在打‘香港牌’。”曲兵说。
这一观点也印证了《每日电讯报》的报道；亨特此番为竞选进行的“表演”，显然“激怒了北京”，而眼下“正值英国脱欧前寻找新朋友之际”，其后续影响显然无法估量。
