3月17日深夜，国防部发言人吴谦就美“与台湾交往法案”发表谈话。
吴谦表示，当地时间3月16日，美方签署“与台湾交往法案”，中国军队对此坚决反对。
吴谦强调，台湾是中国的一部分，台湾问题纯属中国内政。该案有关条款尽管没有法律约束力，但它严重违反一个中国原则和中美三个联合公报规定，干涉中国内政，损害了中美两国两军关系的发展氛围。中方要求美方信守承诺、改正错误，不得实施上述法案有关条款，停止美台官方往来，停止美台军事联系，停止对台售武，以免对中美两国两军关系和台海和平稳定造成严重损害。

At the middle of the night of March 17, Wu Qian, a spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, made a statement on the "U.S.-Taiwan Contact Act."
Wu Qian said that on March 16, local time, the United States signed the "Communication with Taiwan Act," and the Chinese military resolutely opposed it.
Wu Qian stressed that Taiwan is part of China and the Taiwan issue is purely China’s internal affairs. Although the relevant provisions of the case are not legally binding, it is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-U.S. joint communiques to interfere in China’s internal affairs and damage the development atmosphere of the relations between the two countries and the two armed forces. The Chinese side demanded that the United States abide by its commitments and correct mistakes, and must not implement the relevant provisions of the aforementioned bill, stop US-Taiwan official contacts, stop US-Taiwan military ties, and stop arms sales to Taiwan so as to avoid serious damage to Sino-U.S. military relations and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. .
