China & Taiwan Signed Agreements on Transportations

Finally, China and Taiwan signed 3 agreements for direct transportations -- air flight, sea freight, parcel/mail -- and 1 on food safety control in Taipei this afternoon.

The air and sea transportation and logistics business in Taiwan will boom for sure, and Hong Kong will lose some of the volume.

With direct flight route, it will take only 1hr 20min to fly between Taipei (downtown) and Shanghai, instead of 6hrs via HK.

Tomorrow will be agreements on opening up financial/banking sector to Taiwanese.

Despite their protest to One China policy, Taiwan cannot afford to isolate themselves from China due to her heavyweight status.

Look at HKG which is already losing its business as a gateway to China as China has already developed so much in terms of infra and skills to reduce the necessity of HKG as the middleman.

I think President Ma should hold the meeting in a room which has a giant Republic of China flag with Dr Sun Yat Sen portrait below.

It's painful, funny and sad to see how the green camp have started waving ROC flags, pay their respects to KMT martyrs tombs who died fighting the communists, sang nationalists anti-communists songs - just to demonstrate against Chen Yunlin and KMT.

2 more days left. so far the green camp have not make use of generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek legacy in their demonstration activities. Don't think they will miss that out.

I'm not Taiwanese and am neither a DPP nor Kuomintang supporter.
But I find some of the actions and words of the DPP extremely devoid of logic.
Especially their attempts to justify the actions towards Zhang Ming Qing, their reasons or lack of reasons for protesting and their defence of alledged corruption in the previous government.
Perhaps they are trying to emulate their beloved ex leader, who constantly talks about arresting people who he claims to be criminals and that he loves Taiwan, when he is the one who has screwed Taiwan big time.
