China started to develop Batam Transhipment Port and will ban China cargoes (export and import) from being transshipped at Singapore PSA

What is the take on Li Ka Shing's HPH ports in China? PSA International A.k.a. Temasick has 20% stake. It wanted to sell but no buyers.
As I read, HPH has been automating its processes to save costs and expanding its cooperation with new ports in South China.

The indonesian fisherman pirates would be very happy to have so many ships on that side
You underestimated PRC. Once they have their port set-up, they will have legitimate excuses to send their military ship here in the name of keeping its own port and ships safe from harm. At the same time, it can also keep the America's military ships at bay here. Port serves so many "functions", not just for transhipments. Let's just say that Lawrence Wong screwed up this country by agitating PRC over Japanese issues.

Lawrence Wong isn't wrong.
It just time and period people are living in.
Sooner or later, the China will need to build their own shipping route.
Chinese wanted Asia on their own . Xi Jinping earlier say that The world is big enough to be shared by 2 great power. Pacific can be split into 2.

But now China's dream is crumbling.

Anyway the consumption of Chinese is dropping like flies. They develop and eat their own shit. They like to trade on their own and make others redundant.

It's good that trump come and beat the hell out of China.

Lawrence Wong missed the mark At his age, one would have thought he would be better knowledgeable about contemporary geopolitics and world history, especially in light of Donald Trump. Singapore recognised that China is expanding, but it should be mindful that America is no longer a trustworthy ally when war is concerned.

After gaining control of the Straits of Taiwan and the South China Sea, China has effectively checkedmate the Asia-Pacific area. Since history is always on China's side as a victimized country during WWII, there is no international law that prohibits it from taking back its belongings. To exacerbate the situation, America has long been harming the world, long before China has developed its economic and military might.

Returning to Singapore, which is well-known for its avarice, China ought to have been urged to establish a port here and permit its cutting-edge military marines to patrol the Malacca Straits against pirates who never seem to go away for ages. The trillions of commodities that are shipped from China to the rest of the globe via Singapore provide enormous financial potential because China is one of the world's largest exporters, selling goods everyone needs. Our common langauge, with China, put us in a better place than eleswhere when doing busineses, and we reduce the motive of China wanting Thailand to open up the Kra Canal thus hurting our trades with the world.

Everyone believes that China poses a threat. Japan is concerned that its goods won't be able to cross the South China Sea, and India believes that its goods won't be able to travel via Singapore. These concerns only make sense if the US military is actively engaged in combat mode in the East. Everyone has forgotten China's primary goal, which is to bring its people out of poverty and be open to doing business with all nations, whether they are allies or adversaries which reminds of your old grandpa hunger period.

Unlike America, India or certain G7 nations, China doesn't care whether it will become a world super power. It is cautious of the contentious West, the white supremacy culture, but show more restraint and respect for the South and the Eastern world and Singapore is in the right place to just keep our mouth shut when our politicians have nothing positive to say about other people.
