The art of war - treat your enemy's enemy (Russia) as your friend and forgive. Then treat enemy's friend (Taiwan) as your enemy and show no mercy. It is also in the America military play book. Taiwanese leaders are stupid to choose the latter.

If Taiwan distant itself from America, China would allow Taiwan to govern itself and enjoy many priviledge the same as Singapore PR enjoying the same priviledges as Singaporeans.
