Cutting the hand and leg tendons of someone, permanently cripples this person. Expensive surgery (which the vast majority of the people in China cannot possibly afford) is required to restore use of one's hands and legs after tendons are severed. Severe karma here, this man.

Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that the incident happened on the morning of Chap Goh Meh in Shenzen, China.
The couple had spent the festive holiday at the home of the husband's younger brother.
On the day of the incident, after the brother's family had gone out for breakfast, the man, identified only as Zhou, demanded sex from his wife.
However, she refused, claiming that she was menstruating. He then tried to force himself on her.
In a fit of rage, he rushed to the kitchen, came back with a knife, pinned his wife to the bed and cut the tendons on her hands and legs.
The man then called his brother, who alerted the police.
He was arrested the next day.
