Thai Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra has met with China’s State Councillor and the Minister of Public Security,
Meng Jianzhu in Bangkok. They have vowed to enhance cooperation in security and law enforcement.

The pledge was made as joint investigations on a massacre of 13 Chinese sailors on the Mekong River achieved major
progress. The Chinese delegation, headed by Meng Jianzhu, is now in Thailand to assist with the final stages of the
investigation.

As a part of efforts to promote cooperation on this case, Meng also met with Thai army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha. Both
agreed to push forward the investigation and strengthen joint patrols along Mekong River. The massacre happened near
the Thai-Myanmar border in October last year.

The three prime suspects led by suspected drug trafficker, Naw Kham, have admitted the criminal gang committed the
murders in collusion with nine lawless Thai soldiers.
