Surrey Mounties are searching for sex offender with a history of luring children after he allegedly breached his probation.
Twenty-three-year-old Jeffrey Allan Goddard is currently on probation after serving jail time for sexual touching and luring a child under 16 using a computer. An RCMP press release says his last known address was in Surrey.
Goddard is considered an “untreated sexual offender” according to that statement, released Friday night.
“His recent behaviour progression is indicative that he may be back in a crime cycle,” the release says.
Police say that Goddard often used social media to lure his victims and came up with elaborate scenarios to get close to children between the ages of 12 and 17, including both boys and girls. He has posed as a police officer and offered ride-alongs to young people, pretended to be a musician searching for people to star in his music videos and acted as a landscaper seeking teen helpers.
Goddard is white, 5-9 tall, with brown hair and green eyes, and weighs 150 lbs. Police believe he is likely somewhere in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley.
Police warn that anyone who sees Goddard should not approach him and call 911 immediately.
