There’s no traditional shutter button or zoom lens lever.
Instead, dual rings provide effortless control over the lens and shutter. The outer ring controls the shutter, which can be released from any point on the ring. Whichever angle or place you choose to hold the PowerShot N, the shutter release is always under your finger for quick and discreet release. The inner ring controls the zoom of the 28mm Wide-Angle 8x Optical Zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilizer, ensuring your images are sharp and clear.
There’s no wrong way to hold it.
Because of the dual control rings and the 90° tilting screen, you can shoot diagonally, horizontally, from low angles or high for the perfect emphasized shot. Don’t worry about contorting your hand to reach the shutter button — the ring is always in the right place, no matter how you’re aiming the camera.
It’s the ideal smartphone or tablet companion.
The convenient one-touch Mobile Device Connect Button allows you to connect to your Android or iOS device for quick and easy sharing. Simply press the Mobile Device Connect Button, which launches the CameraWindow app on your smartphone, and the connection is complete. By connecting to a smartphone, you can browse and share images while still leaving the camera inside a bag. It is also possible to turn off the camera quickly and easily, directly from a smartphone.

Six different images can be created with one press of the shutter, where the Canon PowerShot N will analyze the scene and intelligently select different focus points, cropping, and filters so you don’t have to.
Canon threw in a plethora of other nice touches, including ECO mode for 30% longer battery life, a gesture-based touchscreen system, and USB charging (common on phones, but rare for dedicated cameras).
