At least we have someone from the PAP camp who openly admitting to the flaws.
The trend in PAP camp is like this. When in power, talk big, act arrogant and be as cocky as possible to the
lesser mortal (the term used by
Charles Chong when he supported his colleagues who took 3 months leave for $50K French cooking).
When situation is dire and their power is threatened, shed crocodile tears, act humble, apologise and admit the policies are screwed up. Examples are aplenty.
Lim Boon Heng: *sob sob* I am against IR, nobody wanted to listen to me (before that, he said IR will bring thousands of jobs to sinkies)
George Yeo: *sob sob* PAP has not listened enough to its people (before that he said Singaporeans must be on equal footing or enter parliament to speak to ministers)
Lim Swee Say: I never said Singaporeans should be paid cheaper, I mean products/services should be cheaper (before that he said Singapreans should not up salaries and inflate the cost of livings, so he want to see a cheaper, better and faster working labour force)
Lee Hsien Loong: I apologise for not listening enough, LKY opinion is not my opinion (before that, he joined his father to threaten aljunied residents over estate upgrading if nobody votes for PAP)
Khaw Boon Wan: I did not say my heart surgery cost $8, netizens are taking my words out of context (before that, he posed his $8 zippers for the world to see)
Grace Fu: *sob sob* If my salary is cut, my family lifestyle will compromise I would have worked better in private sector instead of sacrificing myself in politics (before that she said Singaporeans should not expect salary to rise and create higher cost for SMEs)
Lee Hsien Loong: *sob eye red red*, 6.9 mil is just a road map not a target (before that, he said Singapore need to have 6.9 mil populations to up TFR or risked posing burden to society when everyone grows old).
Lim Wee Kiat: My apology, dignity should not be measured in monetary term (before that, If my salary is less than $500K per annum, I will have no face to talk to anyone earning more than me)
Teo Chee Hean: I want students to ask themselves about govt policies, to instill their thinking process and I didn't mean to show disrespect to them at the forum (before that, he answered everyone questions with "What do you think? What to you think huh??, what do you think!!!"
Vikram: After drinking corpse water, he apologised to LTK (before that, he said WP's is like Nigeria scam trying to raid Singapore reserves)
Seak Kean Peng: Apologise to LKT after being sarcasting about opposition not putting on hearing aid (before that, he exert authority on parking warden to let him off for illegal parking and said it is "common" during grassroot gatherings )
Khaw boon Wan *No sight no sound during PE by-election* (a year before, he questioned opposition for misleading the electorate and want WP to come clean on Yawgate affairs)
Vivian Balakrisnhan: I was haunted by what I said and felt regret (before election, do you want 3 meals in hawker, foodcourt or restaurant without batting his eyelids)
It was so easy for every PAP ministers to exonerate themselves with words and with the same cocky tune to spike Singaporeans. Oppositions do not have such luxury, even to be humble.
