Charles Chong: PAP GRC got less desirable candidate

He told Chinese Xin Ming paper that GRC systems have lots of loopholes. It kicked out good calibre candidates and also draws lousy candidates into PAP camp, thru parachuting. He prefers SMC where everyone can fight fairly instead of coat-taling into GRC....hmmm. If I am journalist, I will ask him who were the lousy candidates in PAP camp he was referring to.

To avoid offending his own camp, he tried to cover his backside by saying opposition GRC also got "no good quality" candidate. I wonder who was he referring too?

I think he realised that PAP does not want him to be in their camp anymore.

Joo Chiat SMC is not being absorbed into GRC and if that does happen, it will spell more trouble for PAP if the expanded GRC is to lose out. GRC does not garantee you victory all the time. Ajunied GRC is the lesson PAP must learn and Joo chiat SMC is right at the door step of Aljunied GRC.

I would not risk losing a GRC for a small SMC. After all , the losing candidate will be placed in Grassroot as advisor. Business as usual.
