Judicial Commissioner, High Court Judge, Judge of Appeal, Attorney General. Served under WCJ, YPH and CSK. Why wasn't he qualified to be CJ?
At least, appoint him CJ for 3 years or so or till his retirement. Mei yu kong lau yea yu ku lao.

Sundaresh Menon's still very young. His time will come. Can wait. But, at age 52, appointed CJ. What's the rush?

Any bros here can help me understand CHT's exclusion and SM's appointment? Looks like CHT was marginalised. Cannot get along with top politicians or not trusted by them?
 
Possibly some things he was asked to do and it did not go well with him. CHT I understand from sources is a man that has decency, sth that is not the mark of CJs with YPH as case in point.
 
DPM, Finance Minister and Law Minister are all Indian.

The appointment of a CJ is an opportunity to set the tone necessary for the next stretch. It is a trend that crossed over from the private sector where CEO are usually from a different organsiations and the same is noted in many western public sectors where key executives are now from the rank and file. Despite VK liberal outlook he was went faster to the appellate bench than Chao.

In fact there has been talks for many years that the CJ job was reserved for AP Rajah......... Dun know what happened which made him a walked-over. Izzit that he was found to be too stiff? Or Menon is very pliable.......????
