http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/wanted-ideas-to-help-heartland-shops-go-cashless

The National Environment Agency, Housing Board, Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office put out a combined request for information to crowd source ideas to find a solution for cashless payments in hawker centres, coffee shops and heartland shops nationwide.

if like this, then employ the CEOs of NEA, HDB and MAS for fark

now u know why Minister Mentor calls Singaporeans DAFT

Don't understand why a simple thing is soo complicated....HK got octopus card..just follow what they did...but the elephant in the room is not address which is the merchant fees..the banks etc want to earn money..the gahmen want to get a cut...so how it will take off is virtually impossible. With the rent seeking behaviour of the big banks n gahmen...good luck to take off

Octopus card is just like the Ezlink card la. Cheebye fuckers should just make it easy for ppl to top up and spend using the Ezlink card

aiyah. so easy to provide wi-fi and internet connection to stall holders and get them to use this small profile smartphone payment system. 69% of my payments for coffee, groceries, and food are already cashless. for sinkies an auxiliary cash register connected to a cashless payment system is still needed as older sinkie uncles and aunties still prefer to transact in cash. it's not the payment system. the problem is wi-fi and internet access. gov is extremely paranoid about offering both free and convenient to the pubic as they will reduce revenue opportunities for telcos. just look at changi airport. pubic wi-fi and internet access are atrocious, not even 3rd world standard.

Cheebye civil serpents should be slapped hard on the face and stomped. Why are they getting paid if the public is providing all the help instead of these clowns. Might as well go hire a bunch of aunties from the hawker centre. Can save more money and probably get better ideas anyway.
