She entered a Furla store, took a yellow purse worth over S$300 (US$233), placed it on her luggage trolley, and left the store without paying.

She also admitted to stealing a bottle of perfume worth more than S$200 from a cosmetics store at Terminal 2.

In a separate case, another Indian tourist, Garg Prasha, 30, was fined S$700 after pleading guilty to one count of theft, NDTV reported.

After arriving from India, Prasha entered the Charles & Keith store at Terminal 2, took a black haversack bag, placed it in her trolley, and left without paying.

Under Singapore law, theft is punishable by up to three years in jail, a fine, or both. Theft in a dwelling carries a maximum penalty of seven years' imprisonment and a fine.
